Tiffany, Co-Team Captain
Tiffany is a single mom raising a teenage girl with a mission to instill the importance of health in the next generation. She serves as a Nutrition Education Specialist in a county program in high-need schools, working with students, teachers, and partners to increase fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity through youth employment, social media, and hands-on workshops.
Although she ran track in middle school, Tiffany never ran much after that. It took a car accident in Dec. 2009 to realize to never take advantage of her physical well-being. Even though she wasn't a runner, it scared her to think she wouldn't be able to from the pain, so after healing she set out for her first half marathon the next year, the US Half across the Golden Gate Bridge.
After being a solo runner for a majority of the time, she became interested in group running when she did an impromptu running tour of London with @FoodandLycra. The combination of running with friends and sight-seeing intrigued her, so she continued to collect miles while traveling, always packing running shoes in her suitcase. As a sucker for scenery, running outdoors is her thing, but there weren't too many people in her circle who felt the same...until she came across the Concrete Runners. After the first event, the Season 1 kick-off, she was hooked to the crew's commitment of inspiration, motivation, and collaboration, further fueling her to attend all the events and even get involved with the growth of the @Mission_IM_Possible San Francisco Chapter.
Her dedication to running and the Concrete Runners really paid off when she was selected to be Co-Captain and has been grateful for her new family ever since. Aside from running, Tiffany enjoys yoga, Zumba, and reliving her basketball days through her daughter's involvement in the sport. After 9 half marathons through the years, she's ready to embark on her newest adventure: a full marathon in Hawaii in December!
